Dan got his start in nonprofit work over 30 years ago providing summer enrichment programming to at-risk youth in places like Camden, Newark, and Atlantic City. For the past 17 years, he’s served in senior leadership roles in nonprofits of varying sizes and missions, almost all with a focus on serving the poor and the vulnerable. He currently serves as CEO of the Community Action Partnership of Lancaster County, chairs the Lancaster Equity Community Development Corporation Board of Directors, and is a member of the Lancaster Housing Opportunities Partnership, Housing Development Corporation, Community Action Association of PA, and United Way of Lancaster County Board of Directors.
He recently chaired the mayor’s Commission to Combat Poverty, which led to his participation on the Steering Committee for the Lancaster Coalition to Combat Poverty. Dan has a Bachelor’s Degree from Rowan University and a Master’s Degree from Lancaster Theological Seminary where, in the fall of 2017, he will become an adjunct professor to co-teach a class on the intersection of Theology and Poverty.
