Thank you for your interest in submitting a workshop proposal for the 2017 Annual Collaborative Conference. Deadline for submission is July 12, 2017.
Each year, we strive to provide a conference in which nonprofit professionals can connect, network, learn from each other, learn from experts, and together leverage our collective power to create change – not only within the nonprofit sector, but within our larger communities, including the for-profit and government sectors. This year, with our theme of Inclusion by Design: The Voices of Our Communities, Our Organizations, and You, we are highlighting how embracing inclusion as an integral part of how we do our work can help pave the way to success. We are going into this with the understanding that inclusion can take on a lot of different meanings. For some, it may mean designing services to be widely accessible to people of different ability levels, cultural, religious, or economic backgrounds, sexual orientations, etc. It may mean considering new funding streams. For others, it may mean recruiting diverse board members or fostering an internal workplace culture of belonging, connection, and community.
No matter what inclusion means to our nonprofit constituents, we’d like for all learners to walk away understanding how to approach inclusion with purpose – as a mindset and not a requirement.
Each year, presenters are encouraged to use a Three-Part Framework to plan and implement each 75-minute session, for the purposes of consistency and connecting to the conference theme. This helps to build trust, connections and relationship between and among conference participants, presenters, exhibitors and sponsors around the conference theme of Inclusion by Design. You can find the 3-part framework here.
